Multi-tenancy
Multi-tenancy in iRis Cloud enables a single platform instance to securely serve multiple tenants.
A Tenant is a top-level logical entity that represents an organizational boundary (for example, an independent business entity, company, customer segment, or business unit) and encapsulates all related iRis HMI entities and configurations, including HMI Devices, assets, dashboards, users, and other tenant-specific resources.
Isolation and security
Section titled “Isolation and security”Multi-tenancy in iRis Cloud is implemented through strict logical isolation:
- Each entity belongs to exactly one tenant.
- Permissions are enforced by role-based access control.
- Tenant Administrators cannot access resources belonging to other tenants.
This ensures secure tenant data isolation, even when multiple tenants operate within the same platform instance while sharing the underlying infrastructure.
Best practices
Section titled “Best practices”To keep a multi-tenant deployment stable and secure:
- Assign at least two Tenant Administrators per tenant for redundancy.
- Use consistent naming conventions for customers, HMI Devices, and assets.
- Watch the Usage card on the Home page (HMI Device, asset, user, dashboard, and customer counts against the tenant limits) and the API usage page (transport messages, data points, alarms, emails) so you notice when the tenant approaches its limits.
